Ikat is an Indonesian word that literally translates as "to bind."

In this ancient weaving technique, threads of silk and cotton are intricately knotted to create areas of resistance, then hand-dyed. When they are unbound and carefully woven onto small handlooms, the pattern in the fabric appears.

The labor-intensive process results in unique home accessories that celebrate the beauty of hand-crafted artisanal design.  Each is a work of art.
